SketchUp is a 3D modelling software that is widely used in industries such as architecture, interior design, and engineering. It’s a versatile tool that can be used for everything from creating detailed floor plans to designing complex structures. However, learning how to use SketchUp can be a daunting task, especially if you’re new to 3D modelling software. That’s where a good SketchUp course comes in – luckily I came across Clare Le Roy from ‘The Little Design Corner‘.

I have to say that to date, I am thoroughly impressed with Clare’s signature course – SketchUp for Interior Design (Beginners). It is well-structured, informative, clear and easy to follow. The course started with the basics of SketchUp, which was great for me as I had no prior experience using SketchUp. Clare went over the different tools and how to use them, as well as some key concepts such as layers and groups. I found this very helpful, as it gave me a solid foundation to build on.
The course moved on to more advanced topics such as creating 3D models and adding textures and materials. Clare did an excellent job of explaining these concepts in a clear and concise way.
One of the things I have really enjoyed about this course is the hands-on approach. Clare provides plenty of opportunities for practice and experimentation through her bingo game after each module is completed. I find this to be the most effective way to learn and has made the course feel very interactive and engaging, which keeps me motivated and focused. Clare also has a Facebook Group with many other students completing the course, which helps answer any questions if you’re feeling a little stuck.
Check out my blog ‘A Taste Of Paris: Designing Our Modern French-Inspired Kitchen’ which shows you the 3D work I have completed through Clare’s course.
I am still in the process of completing the course but overall, I highly recommend the SketchUp for Interior Design (Beginners) course to anyone looking to learn or improve their skills in 3D modelling. I feel confident using SketchUp now, and I’m excited to continue exploring what this powerful software can do.
Clare also offers many business short courses that have been created specifically for designers and architects. You can click here to access all of Clare’s courses.
